The City of Bremerton is getting a whole new look in downtown with the development of Harborside Park. The City's Economic Development Director is Gary Sexton, project manager. The design includes an expansive green park located between the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton Harborside and the downtown center. The Park will be the new home of the Naval Heritage Museum in the remodeled historic Building 50, Maritime Plaza, fountains, great lawns and public gardens. The Harborside Park complex will have history about the 100 year old Puget Sound Naval Shipyard which has played such an important part of Bremerton and Kitsap County's history. Harborside Park is a key component in the City's revitalization of downtown Bremerton. The revitalization of the city of Bremerton should breathe new life into a city that has been asleep for quite some time but should wake up with a beautifully developed look now with many new things of interest for people wanting to live on the peninsula instead of the city.
